Something Isn't Right Here...

This past summer everything came to a head in Seattle when a homeless, deaf, intoxicated, Indian woodcarver was shot and killed in downtown Seattle. He wasn't shot by a criminal. He was shot and killed by a cop. Why the cop shot him is debatable, but this man was shot at least four times. Police video shows that the officer shot John T. Williams seven seconds after he was approached by the officer. John T. Williams hardly had a chance. The officer states that Williams turned and threatened him with the knife. Officer Birk states that Williams lunged at him even though several witnesses say Williams was walking away.

The knife was found in a closed position even though Birk stated the knife was open. Williams was shot in the side and the back. This isn't looking too good for Officer Birk. Let's give Birk the benefit of the doubt for one moment though. Let's say Williams did turn toward Birk and point the knife in his direction. The fact that this officer couldn't figure out a way to handle an intoxicated, 50 year-old man that had visible disabilities is scary. Don't forget, Birk shot Williams from 10 feet away. Williams was holding a 3-inch wood carving knife that may have been closed. Four bullets to the side and back! Unbelievable.
