Officer Birk is Walking

Well, I predicted it. Officer Birk is not going to be charged with murder for shooting John T. Williams. He won't be charged with any crime. Even though I knew this would be the result of the investigation I am still stunned. No ordinary citizen would get away with this. This only proves that if you are a cop, you are truly above the law. This sends a bad message to everyone in Seattle. It also sends the message to police officers everywhere that no matter what, you will not be held accountable for your actions.

Local cops must be licking their chops. If Birk can away with this then any cop can pretty much get away with anything. How much worse does it have to get before an officer goes to prison for his actions? The SPD has made its final determination that the shooting was indeed unjustified. What does this mean for Birk? He could be disciplined or fired. Are you fucking kidding me? The fact that there is even a remote chance this man could ever be a police officer again is fucking outrageous.

What is it going to take for citizens to say enough is enough? When are we going to start defending our own? You can't fight fire with fire in this case. We can't go around shooting back. That wouldn't help anyone and we would be just as bad as those assholes. We need to voice our outrage and take action when these fools that make these decisions are up for re-election. We need to send a strong message that this kind of behavior isn't right. It's going to take everybody to get on board and fight this. You need to take back your city. Seattle isn't safe anymore.

Officer Birk, you may not be going to prison but you are still a fucking coward. I know it and you know it. I hope you feel real tough knowing you shot a homeless, deaf guy in the side four times. You must feel like a man now. I wish you all the worst life has to offer.
